EORC’s Community Support Services (CSS) are committed to supporting older adults and adults with a physical disability live independent, active, and meaningful lives in their community. Our goal is to help individuals stay in their own homes as long as they so choose by connecting clients with the care and help they need. Thanks to the efforts of our committed staff and dependable, screened volunteers, the EORC plays a vital role in making our community a vibrant and accessible place.

Our Community Support Services Programs

Transportation Services

This program offers transportation to and from non-urgent medical appointments and other essential services, as well as trips to local grocery stores, to older adults and adults with physical disabilities residing in Ottawa’s east end communities. By providing convenient rides and delivery options, it helps seniors maintain their independence and easily access fresh food.

Exercise And Movement Classes

These free fitness programs offer seniors and individuals living with Parkinson’s a variety of guided group sessions—including strength, balance, mobility, and gentle yoga—held in person at the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub. They promote safe, accessible movement to support overall wellness.

Friendly Visiting and Telephone Assurance

These free programs offer companionship and support through regular in-person visits or check-in phone calls, helping older adults and adults with disabilities feel connected and safe at home.

Registered Practical Nurses provide clients with an assessment, foot care services (cleaning, nail trimming, filing), and advice.

These services connect individuals with trusted professionals for home maintenance, caregiver respite, and reliable snow removal support. They help older adults and those with disabilities maintain safety, comfort, and independence year-round.

Client Intervention & Assistance

This service is offered to those who are vulnerable and at risk. This includes those facing a critical or impending change in life situation, abuse or isolation. Referrals are provided to help put supports in place.

This service provides individual support and guidance for caregivers. Our Community Support Workers are here to lend an empathetic ear and can refer you to the right place, depending on your situation.

Adult Day Program

These programs offer therapeutic, social, and recreational activities for adults living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, including age-appropriate support for those with young-onset dementia. They promote independence while providing respite and guidance for caregivers.
