Our Commitment
The EORC is committed to providing inclusive, equitable, and accessible services to all community members, in alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and other applicable legislation.
We strive to remove barriers that may limit access for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. All services are delivered with respect for the dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity of individuals with disabilities and others facing accessibility challenges. Whenever possible, we accommodate clients in their preferred language.
How We Ensure Accessibility
EORC actively works to minimize barriers across key areas:
Environment
Safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for all.
Buildings
Accessible features including ramps, elevators, and clear signage.
Transportation
Accessible transportation options or coordination of services.
Information
Materials available in accessible formats, such as large print or plain language.
Communication
Multiple communication formats including TTY, email, and translation services.
Attitude
Staff trained to foster respectful, inclusive interactions.
Legislative Compliance
We adhere to all relevant accessibility legislation and standards, and regularly review our policies to ensure they remain current.
Annual Accessibility Assessment
EORC conducts formal annual assessments to:
- Identify and remove barriers
- Gather feedback from clients, staff, and volunteers
- Analyze trends and lessons learned
- Implement and evaluate an Accessibility Action Plan
- Share results with our stakeholders
Language Accommodation
We provide services in clients’ preferred language whenever possible. Translation and interpretation services are available based on need and availability.
Training & Feedback
Our staff and volunteers receive ongoing training in accessibility standards and inclusive practices.
