Our Journey

1979
Foundation

Opened as the Gloucester Centre for Community Resources, serving residents of the former City of Gloucester.

1985
Expansion

Added specialized programs for children, youth, seniors, and families affected by violence and trauma.

1992
Commitment to French Services

Received French Language Designation under Bill 8

2004
A broader Mandate

Co-developed the francophone helpline “Femme à l’écoute” and became the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre (EORC) to reflect expanded services across the east end.

2007
Supporting Seniors

Integrated Cumberland Home Support, adding the Adult Day Program, transportation, home help, and respite services.

2013
Business Excellence Award

Received the Business Excellence Award from the Orleans Chamber of Commerce in recognition of our commitment to quality services and community impact.

2016
A New Home

Transitioned from a small community office to the Gloucester Shopping Centre, expanding accessibility and program capacity.

2021
Satellite Office Opens

Opened a satellite office at the Aline Chrétien Health Hub, increasing reach and convenience for the community.

2022
Accreditation Achieved

Earned our first 4-year accreditation from FOCUS Accreditation, reflecting excellence in service quality and organizational standards.

2025
Rebranding and Modernization

Updated the organization’s brand and refreshed the French name to better reflect our contemporary identity.
