Community Garden – COMING SOON SUMMER 2026

The Community Garden is a collaborative garden plot located at the Just Food Farm. The vegetables harvested from the garden help support our ability to distribute fresh, healthy food within the community while also creating meaningful volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. The garden promotes food security by providing vegetables and by encouraging sustainable practices such as composting and seed‑saving. Regular workshops and volunteer days offer hands‑on learning in horticulture, nutrition, and environmental stewardship. Beyond its practical benefits, the Community Garden strengthens community relationships and provides a welcoming outdoor space for relaxation, shared learning, and cultural exchange.

Our Community Development programs bring people together to build stronger, more connected neighbourhoods through inclusive opportunities for learning, leadership, and collaboration.

Who Can Access This Service?

Service Area

The Community Garden program is open to residents and volunteers interested in learning about gardening, food security, and sustainable practices. Participation is encouraged from individuals of all ages who wish to contribute to growing fresh food, building community connections, or gaining hands‑on experience in horticulture and environmental stewardship.

Eligibility Requirements

Participation in the Community Garden program is open to community members who reside within the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre (EORC) catchment area and who are interested in contributing to a shared, collaborative garden space. Individuals and families must be able to participate in outdoor, hands‑on activities and demonstrate a willingness to engage respectfully with others in a communal environment. No gardening experience is required—just an openness to learning, teamwork, and supporting initiatives that promote food security and sustainable practices.

Participants must also be registered EORC clients to access the program.
