Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre receives $99,960 in Funding from the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund

Ottawa, October 4th, 2023 — The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre (EORC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $99,960 from the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund, administered by the Canadian Red Cross. The funding will be allocated to the project titled “Human Resources and Operational Framework,” aimed at enhancing the organization’s resilience and adaptability in the face of the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges for businesses and organizations across various sectors. Staffing and recruitment have emerged as unexpected hurdles during these trying times, leading to turnover and a loss of internal capacity. The EORC’s response to these challenges includes a dedicated effort to rejuvenate, rebuild, and reconnect its human resources, internal operations, and capacities throughout the year 2023-2024.
According to Stephanie Fragman, the Executive Director of the EORC,
“This funding is an invaluable lifeline that will invigorate our efforts to enhance our organizational resilience. As we continue to grapple with the far-reaching implications of the pandemic, this funding will play a pivotal role in our journey to recalibrate our HR strategies, streamline processes, and bolster our response to unforeseen disruptions. We are profoundly grateful to the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund and the Canadian Red Cross for recognizing the significance of this work.”
Furthermore, Gilles Sauvé, President of the EORC’s Board of Directors, conveyed their enthusiasm, stating,
“At the heart of every resilient organization is a strong operational foundation. This funding signifies an investment not only in the EORC but in the welfare of the entire Eastern Ottawa community. We are determined to navigate these turbulent times with agility and continue offering crucial services to those who depend on us. The ‘Human Resources and Operational Framework’ project aligns seamlessly with our commitment to operational excellence.”
The Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Jenna Sudds, added:
“I am continually impressed by the passion, dedication, and creativity of community service organizations, like the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre. As the organization endeavors to recalibrate its policies and practices to align with the “new normal,” the funding from the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund will act as a cornerstone, facilitating a seamless transition while upholding the EORC’s steadfast commitment to serving the Eastern Ottawa community with unwavering dedication. This project is also part of a collaborative effort involving members of the Coalition of Health and Resource Centres of Ottawa, leveraging collective resources to navigate the intricate landscape posed by the pandemic.

Ottawa, le 4 octobre 2023 – Le Centre des ressources de l’Est d’Ottawa (CREO) est heureux d’annoncer qu’il a reçu 99 960 $ du Fonds de relance des services communautaires du gouvernement du Canada, administré par la Croix-Rouge canadienne. Les fonds seront alloués au projet intitulé “Ressources humaines et cadre opérationnel”, qui vise à améliorer la résilience et l’adaptabilité de l’organisation face aux défis continus posés par la pandémie de la COVID-19.
La pandémie de la COVID-19 a entraîné des défis sans précédent pour les entreprises et les organisations de divers secteurs. La dotation en personnel et le recrutement sont apparus comme des obstacles inattendus en ces temps difficiles, entraînant une rotation du personnel et une perte de capacité interne. La réponse du CREO à ces défis comprend un effort spécifique pour redynamiser, reconstruire et reconnecter ses ressources humaines, ses opérations internes et ses capacités tout au long de l’année 2023-2024.
Selon Stephanie Fragman, directrice générale du CREO,
“ce financement est une bouée de sauvetage inestimable qui stimulera nos efforts pour améliorer la résilience de notre organisation. Alors que nous continuons à nous débattre avec les implications profondes de la pandémie, ce financement jouera un rôle essentiel dans nos efforts pour soutenir le recrutement, la rétention et la formation. Nous sommes profondément reconnaissants au Fonds de relance des services communautaires du gouvernement du Canada et à la Croix-Rouge canadienne d’avoir reconnu l’importance de ce travail”.
Par ailleurs, Gilles Sauvé, président du conseil d’administration du CREO, a fait part de son enthousiasme en déclarant :

Ce financement représente un investissement non seulement pour le CREO, mais aussi pour le bien-être de toute la communauté de l’Est d’Ottawa.
